Livability Planner/Senior Livability Planner – Franklin Regional Council of Governments

The Franklin Regional Council of Governments (FRCOG) is seeking a professional with skills and experience in land use, zoning, housing and related disciplines to join our Planning team. The Livability Planner at the FRCOG will focus on making our rural region more vibrant and resilient by working on a wide range of projects, including implementing recommendations from our recent Regional Housing Plan.

Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred in planning, public administration, or related field along with a minimum of one year experience for the Livability Planner position.

Candidates with advanced skills, education, and experience may be considered for a Senior Livability Planner position.

Full-time (37.5 hours per week), grant funded permanent position. Flexible work hours and the potential to work remotely up to two days per week. Salary range begins at $59,441 for Livability Planner, and higher for the Senior Livability Planner position. Excellent benefits, including FRCOG covers 75% of health insurance premiums, 457b Deferred Compensation Plan, Flexible Spending Accounts for medical expense and dependent care, and employees participate in the Massachusetts public retirement system. Staff have 13 paid holidays per year, and vacation leave beginning at 10 days per year plus 3 personal days per year and sick leave. New employees of FRCOG who have prior directly relevant experience may be entitled to receive creditable service time, which can increase the vacation leave accrual amount.
