Planner – City of Salem

 The City of Salem seeks qualified and highly motivated planner to join 14-person planning and community development department. Duties include providing technical assistance to the Board of Appeals; preparing grant applications; managing projects; undertaking strategic planning initiatives; and working with residents and neighborhood groups. The ideal candidate has strong written and verbal communication skills; experience in land use and zoning; computer and interpersonal skills, and ability to interpret development plans. Two or more years’ professional work experience and a master’s degree in planning or related discipline preferred.
