MONTPELIER, VT – The Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission (CVRPC) seeks a versatile and energetic Senior Land Use Planner to develop, implement, and manage projects across our 23 municipalities.
The Land Use Planner will be responsible for helping municipalities identify and achieve their goals in addressing the housing shortage, supporting municipal bylaw updates, protecting forests, water and farmlands, adapting to climate change and mitigating flood impacts, and revitalizing village centers. The position requires significant contact and coordination with municipal officials, volunteer boards, regional organizations, and State and Federal government.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a planning-related field, including zoning, development, and town and city planning. Experience drafting planning and regulatory documents (such as comprehensive plans and land use regulations), as well as writing and public speaking, are required. Knowledge working with GIS is preferred. Attendance at evening meetings is required.
