The Towns of Acushnet and Mattapoisett are seeking applicants for the position of Town Planner.
This position will be equally split between the Towns of Acushnet and Mattapoisett providing administrative and professional support to both Planning Boards.
The Town Planner provides support to both Planning Boards in governing the land use practices of the Towns. This position also serves as a point of contact with residents, builders, developers, and outside agencies in need of customer service assistance regarding planning, land use and economic development issues. The employee is expected to abide by all municipal, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, and quality standards.
The Town Planner will be required to attend meetings of both Planning Boards totaling up to four (4) meetings per a month.
The successful candidate shall have at minimum a bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field and at least two – five years’ experience in land use or municipal planning, or a combination of training and experience. Candidates with comparable experience are encouraged to apply.
This is a full-time non-union position, 35 hours/week, with a starting salary range of $80,000 annually. Pay is dependent on qualifications.
