Office Assistant III – Planning & Development – Town of Millbury

Job Description: This is a 35 hour/week, benefitted, union position. The position requires flexible hours for occasional attendance of night meetings. Duties include but not limited to: clerical, and administrative work in keeping official records, bookkeeping, and providing administrative support to the Director of Planning & Development; providing customer assistance; data processing; drafting correspondence; maintaining departmental accounts, including payables/receivables; tracking and registering official documents, plans, and sureties; recording filings, assisting with applications and plan filings; preparing meeting schedules, agendas, public hearing notices/advertisements, and minutes; fulfill Open Meeting Law requests; maintaining official records and files.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience in an office setting, dealing with the public. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Must possess great attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to multi-task, and work accurately.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree with financial or bookkeeping experience. Experience in a municipal and/or planning setting. Qualified union and internal applicants will be given preference. All applicants must pass a criminal background / CORI check and a pre-employment physical including drug testing.

Salary Range: $23.69-$24.89/hour.
