MISSION:
To increase diversity and cultural competency within the planning profession in Massachusetts, and to equip planners with the knowledge and tools needed to achieve more equitable outcomes in our work.
GOALS/OBJECTIVES:
- Provide tools, education, resources, networks, support, etc. that planners need in order to:

- Make the planning profession better reflect the communities in which we work
- Effectively engage with diverse constituencies as part of our work, and
- Promote planning practices that address harms to marginalized communities.
- Serve as a resource of information on diversity and equity in planning, connecting people to success stories, events, leadership training, workshops, etc.
- Deliberately collaborate with APA-MA and its committees, APA national divisions, and partner organizations to ensure that content of programs include diverse voices and cover concepts of equity and inclusivity.
- Actively address barriers to recruitment and retention of underrepresented and/or marginalized peoples in the profession, including but not limited to people of color, women, and LGBTQ-identifying individuals.
